DPPURL / EDITORIAL POLICY

Our editorial approach

Clear explanations should come with clear sources.

Primary sources first

Standards and regulatory explanations link to GS1, the EU or the relevant protocol’s official documentation. Company articles can add practical perspectives; we distinguish their views from normative requirements.

Keep attribution with the material

When quoting or adapting another organization’s material, retain the publisher, article or document title, original link, and any verified author, date or version. Mark direct quotations clearly and identify translations or excerpts. Keep the source attribution alongside the relevant text or in the article’s references, including in both language versions.

Only1’s explanations and teaching examples are identified separately from quoted material. Preserve applicable source credit and reuse notices when using third-party text or images, and check the source’s reuse terms before publication.

State what a check actually proves

A checksum result is a structural check. A decoded EPC describes encoded fields. A generated QR is an image containing data. None of these alone proves ownership, authenticity or complete regulatory conformity.

Dates and corrections

Articles show their review date. Updates to a standard, product rule or tool scope should be reflected in both language versions. A public contact channel for corrections is being prepared.
