From a product code to a production-ready label

Collect a small, representative sample

Start with a few actual label layouts and the way they are printed today. Record your software, printer model, resolution and materials. Include an example that represents the difficult cases, not only the easiest template.

Define identity responsibilities

Confirm who controls GTIN allocation, how serials are issued and which system keeps the authoritative record. Decide what happens after a failed print, a reprint or an interrupted connection. These decisions prevent a useful demo from becoming an ambiguous production workflow.

Move through an evidence-based pilot

Agree on a limited combination of equipment, materials and expected results. Verify the printed and read-back identities, then expand only after reviewing the results. DPPPrint’s service pages explain the solution and its current scope; ask for an assessment of your actual setup.

Write a data contract before an integration

Document each field’s meaning, format, owner and error behaviour. Keep GTIN, EPC hex, pure identity URI and Digital Link URL in separately named fields. For a repeated print request, decide whether it resumes the same authorised job or creates a new item; do not let a network retry silently allocate another identity. Keep business approval separate from successful encoding.
